THE BIBLE WARNS US

THE BIBLE WARNS US

"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." - Deuteronomy 4:2

Over 30 times in 17 verses in the Bible the tithe is mandated and described as limited to agricultural items only. (See; Lev. 27:30, 32, Num. 18:27, Num. 18:28, Deut. 12:17, Deut. 14:22, Deut. 14:23, Deut. 24:21, Deut. 26:12, 2 Chron. 31:5, 2 Chron. 31:6, Neh. 10:37, Neh. 13:5, Mal. 3:10, Matt. 23:23, Luke 11:42)

And...

"Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words or He will rebuke you, and you will be proved a liar." - Proverbs 30:5-6

What are we warned of? This; DO NOT ALTER OR ADD TO GOD'S WORD; ergo; DO NOT ADD A REQUIREMENT OF THE TITHING OF MONEY FROM INCOME TO GOD'S WORD. If we do, God calls us LIARS who will be rebuked.

MONEY TITHING

Money from income is never mentioned as suitable for tithing. God's Holy Tithe NEVER consisted of money. Nowhere in God's word has God ever levied a tithe on personal monetary income; not to Israel, not to any Gentile, not to the New Testament Church. Monetary tithing, that is to say the tithing of money, does not exist in God's word, the Bible, as a commandment for anyone at anytime. There is no ten percent "tithing" requirement commanded to the New Testament Church.

Also; nowhere in the Bible has God instructed anyone to tithe as, or because of the tithing by Abraham to Melchizedek. Abraham tithed TO MELCHIZEDEK, NOT to any New Testament church or minister. Nowhere in the Bible is Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek cited as an example to be followed. Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek was DESCRIPTIVE NOT PRESCRIPTIVE. The Bible does not prescribe tithing based on Abraham's singular tithe to Melchizedek. Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek was sufficient to establish the superiority of the Melchizedek priesthood over the Levite priesthood. That important superiority does not need to be established or proven again;

Hebrews 7:6-7 - "But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better."

THE TITHE SOLD

If you sold the tithe for money, the holder of the money was forbidden to use the money to "pay a tithe." The money was commanded to be used to purchase anything you wanted and share it with you family and Levite who was with you. You were not permitted to tithe with money. Where does the Bible say this?

Here...

Deuteronomy 14:22-27 - "Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and BIND UP THE MONEY IN THINE HAND, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee."

Note; "BIND UP THE MONEY IN THINE HAND" ... do not use it to tithe with.

HEED THE WARNING; DO NOT ALTER GOD'S WORD OR YOU WILL BE PROVEN TO BE A LIAR AND REBUKED.

2000 YEARS AGO

2000 YEARS AGO

God ended tithing 2000 years ago, and never commanded the tithing of money to anyone, neither was a command ever given for any group of people to tithe except the Nation of Israel. Or, as God's word tells us...

"He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel." He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord." - Psalm 147:19-20

As noted many times before; In the New Testament no Apostle ever instructed tithing, asked for a tithe, rebuked any person or church for not tithing, or received a tithe. Not one of them. The early church seen in the Book of Acts NEVER tithed. We have NO record of them doing so. In fact, The Book of Acts records this...

"Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave NO such commandment:" - Acts 15:24

If tithing was required and taught in the New Testament for Christians, it would have to be clearly detailed and outlined in the terms and conditions of the New Testament like all promises and commands of the New Testament are. Tithing instructions would be clearly included in the New Testament, there are NO SUCH INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOUND. No such terms, conditions or details are outlined anywhere in the New Testament. Tithing was never, is not now, and will never be part of the New Testament. The New Testament KNOWS NOTHING OF ANY COMMAND FOR A BELIEVER TO TITHE.

Titus 1:10-11 - "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: WHO'S MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for FILTHY LUCRE'S SAKE."

...Why are you paying money to liars?

Where did God end tithing? Here...

HEBREWS CHAPTER SEVEN; TITHING CANCELED BY THE NEW TESTAMENT...

What is DISANNULLED? What is WEAK? What is UNPROFITABLE? These three;

1. The Levitical Priesthood (which could bring perfection [salvation] TO NO ONE, Hebrews 7:11).

2. The Law of Moses relative to New Testament Christians who are NOT UNDER THE LAW (Romans 6:14, Acts 15:24).

3. Tithing, which is of the law of Moses (Hebrews 7:5, Numbers 18:21-24, Matthew 23:23).

In Hebrews Chapter Seven tithing is mentioned 7 times, verses number; 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 9 again, focusing CLEARLY ON TITHING, and while proving the superiority of Christ's priesthood, ALSO places tithing (along with the rest of the law of Moses) in a position of INFERIORITY and declares...

ALL THREE ARE WEAK, ALL THREE ARE UNPROFITABLE, AND ALL THREE ARE DISANNULLED (CANCELED)...INCLUDING TITHING.

"For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof." - Hebrews 7:18 (Hebrews was written sometime well after A.D. 49 and prior to A.D. 65.)
