Some Research and Some Results

Over the past ten years, as an activity of Biblical research and study, I have made almost 100 phone calls to popular and well known ministries (most of which are considered to be "word of faith" or "prosperity gospel" in doctrine).

In the course of these phone calls to organizations run by Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland (and his Eagle Mountain Church), Marilyn Hickey, Joyce Meyer, Robert Morris, TBN, Jerry Sevelle, Morris Cerullo, Charles Capps, Jesse Duplantis, Steve Furtick, John Hagee, Kenneth Hagin (Rheme Bible School), Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes, Mike Murdock, Roberts Liardon, Bishop Eddie Long, Larry Lea, Rod Parsley, Fredrick K.C. Price, Leroy Thompson, Paula White, and so on, I have talked to Ministry Managers, Heads of Departments, Associate Pastors, Prayer Coordinators and others, amounting to about two hundred plus conversations.

In every conversation, I have asked ONE SIMPLE QUESTION, and it was this;

"Can you please show me even one scripture stating that a New Testament Christian is required, advised, asked, or directed by God to be a tither or tithe?"

The results of that question has been, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE TIME, "NO, I can't." They huff and puff, talk and argue, rant and rage, but can't find a single verse to solidly stand on.

Not a single person I have spoken to, NOT ONE, has ever come up with even ONE SINGLE VERSE OF SCRIPTURE substantiating any claim AT ALL that a Christian is required by God to tithe, or that Jesus, or any Apostle, ever taught New Testament Believers to tithe. NOT EVEN ONE.

In the course of the conversations, while being polite but firm, I have been yelled at, called a liar, hung up on, laughed at, transferred to voice mails, put on hold for up to an hour, and much worse, BUT NOT ONE PERSON could come up with a single scripture establishing tithing for Christians.

One individual, Pastor Corey Walker of Creflo Dollar's "World Changers Church" (spoke to him on 12:06 PM 8/25/2011), admitted to me that he could not refute what I was saying to him (i.e., Christians are NOT required to tithe), and stated that he also COULD NOT come up with a single scripture proving a requirement for Christians to tithe. Plenty of scriptures ABOUT tithing, NONE teaching a Christian TO TITHE.

Pastor Walker, until his passing away last year (2013) was a close friend of Creflo Dollar's, having worked with Dollar for 25 years.

Also, Pastor Walker was a very mature gracious man, and my conversation with him was very unusual for "faith ministries" in that he was enjoyable to talk to and in no way rude and angry at my question.

When confronted with scripture disproving tithing for Christians he would often say something like "yes, you are right, it does say that, I can't disprove what you are saying." That was common during our conversation.

Concerning other "word of faith" ministers; often they will grasp at straws trying to protect their organizations by taking scriptures completely out of context such as Matt. 23:23 or Malachi 3:6-10 in an attempt to "prove" that a Christian should tithe. Give, yes, tithe, no. The two are not the same in any way shape or form.

In Matt. 23:23, Jesus was talking to Jews who were, at that time, still under the law which required some of them them to tithe.

Remember; text taken out of context can be used to prove anything, including false teachings on tithing. Which, by the way, was never money. It was fruits, vegetables and clean animals grown on the Promise Land.

Regarding Malachi 3:6-10, Malachi was clearly talking to the priests of his day and rebuking THE PRIEST for not tithing, NOT the common people; Malachi 2:1 "This commandment IS TO YOU, OH PRIEST..." See also Nehemiah 10:38; the Priests, NOT the common people, were to bring the "tithe of the tithe" into the storehouse. The common people of Israel NEVER TITHED into the Storehouse, neither is ANY CHURCH today, the Storehouse to be tithed to.

"And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with THE LEVITES, when THE LEVITES take tithes: and THE LEVITES shall bring up the TITHES OF THE TITHES unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house." - Nehemiah 10:38

>>> And here is my point; even though NOT ONE of them can come up with a single scripture proving that a Christian should be tithing, that false doctrine is used all over the "prosperity gospel" "word of faith" milieu ad nauseam by tithing teachers to steal literally millions and millions of dollars from Christians, place them in legalistic UnBiblical bondage and funnel that money into million dollar mansions, lavish life styles, obscene incomes, all while their tithing followers are promised "supernatural prosperity."

And, of course; IN ALL CASES, their followers are just as broke as they have ever been, living no better than ANYONE.

Sadly, the deception goes on and on and on and on and on blinding Christians all over the world! They're tithing and still broke, but told that by tithing, they'll be rich!

Volunteer tithing? What next!

There is no such thing as "volunteer tithing,"
tithing for people God had commanded to tithe was a MATTER OF THE LAW," the Law of Moses was to be obeyed, not "if you want to, if you volunteer to do so."

The "volunteer" nonsense is garbage coming from tithing teachers merely looking for yet another sneaky and deceptive way to convince people to hand over ten percent of their income...

"we're not telling you to tithe, no sir, not us, we're just saying you should volunteer to tithe, God will be pleased at your willingness to do so."

When you tell someone that God's commanded tithing is of the Law of Moses, "the law," many will inevitably say something like "that's legalism, we don't tithe legalistically, we volunteer to do so." They may also add "we tithe under grace."

The word of God makes it clear that God's commanded tithe was in fact of the law, a matter of the law, not a matter of grace, NOT A MATTER OF VOLUNTEERING," and is indeed therefore legalism...

Jesus explained it...

> ref. Matthew 23:23 - "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

Hebrews confirmed it...

> ref. Hebrews 7:5 "And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:"

Malachi instructed it...

> ref. Malachi 4:4 - "Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments."

God's Tithe was NEVER an issue of "volunteering."

A question you can ask your tithing friend is this...

Can you show me any scripture...EVEN ONE...outside of the law (the Law of Moses), or scripture referring to the law, instructing a Christian to tithe?

Where is tithing instructed or commanded non-legalistically OUTSIDE of the law? Please provide chapter and verse clearly, and in proper context, stating that God has done so.

> 2. Jesus did not state that tithing was a matter of Adam, Cain, Abel, Abraham or Jacob; NONE of them are ever cited in God's Word as examples of tithing to be followed.

> 3.The Law of Moses, The Torah, is described by the writer of The Book of Hebrews in Hebrews 7:18 clearly as...

   - Weak,
   - Unprofitable,
   - Annulled.

> 4. Malachi 3:6-10 was written pursuant to the Law of Moses, The Torah, of which the Children of Israel were under and subject to at the time of it's writing - Malachi 4:4, and Malachi was addressing the corrupt Priests of the day, Malachi 2:1

> 5. The Law of Moses, the Torah, where God instructed tithing originates from, has been annulled, and even as much of the moral principles of the Law are now part of the New Testament, nowhere in the New Testament did God transfer any instructions to tithe to anyone, to neither Jew or Gentile.

> 6. Tithing is not advised, suggested or commanded for any Christian living under the New Testament. God instructed tithing has nothing to do with New Testament Christianity.

> 7. If you have been told that you, as a Christian, must or should be tithing, YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO. Don't believe the lie...

2 Timothy 4:3 - "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they draw to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto myths."

Titus 1:10-11 - "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: WHO's MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for FILTHY LUCRE'S SAKE."

> 8. Christians are instructed to be free will cheerful givers as God leads, not tithers in any way shape or form.

Test God? Take the "90 Day Tithe Challenge?"

Many tithing teachers tell their followers to do so; but does Scripture instruct Christians to put God to the test?

Quoting scripture in Malachi 3:10, tithing teachers can be heard telling their students to "put God to the test and tithe to me or the church"...

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." - Malachi 3:10

The same tithing teachers who love to quote Malachi 3:10 trying to get you to tithe to them by advising you to "test God" never seem to embrace Malachi 3:15 nearly as much, if at all...

"And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt [test] God are even delivered." - Malachi 3:15

In Malachi 3:15, God calls those that tempt [or prove, or test] Him WICKED, or involved in wickedness. There is clearly a vast difference in "TEMPTING" or "TESTING GOD" in unbelief and wickedness, and that of obeying His word and thereby experiencing His word in our lives by obedience.

In Malachi 3:10 the Hebrew word translated "prove" is...

Hebrew: בּחן
Transliteration: bâchan
Pronunciation: baw-khan'
Definition: A primitive root; to test (especially metals); generally and figuratively to investigate: - {examine} {prove} {tempt} try (trial).
KJV Usage: try (19x), prove (7x), examine (1x), tempt (1x), trial (1x).
Occurs: 29
In verses: 28

In Malachi 3:15 the Hebrew word translated "tempt" is the exact same Hebrew word as in Malachi 3:10; "bâchan." So, in reality, tithing teachers instructing their followers to "bâchan God" are telling them to do something that God regards as wicked.

Why then would God instruct His people to do something He regards as wicked? The answer is simple if Malachi 3:10 is understood in proper context of the whole book of Malachi.

God, once again, is close to passing judgment on His people, the Children of Israel, for their blatant disobedience to Him (Malachi 3:5) and for calling obedience to his commandments "vain to serve God" (Malachi 3:13-14);

God has been pushed to the point of even permitting something He regards as wicked to get them to obey Him so that judgment can be avoided, even to the point of God more or less "looking the other way" and in mercy permitting them to act in a manner of testing Him, and then expressing a willingness to forgive them for doing so. That is made clear in Malachi 3:15 where God proclaims "they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered." The Hebrew word for "delivered" in Malachi 3:15 is a word of "rescue" or "to be preserved" or "escape" as in escape Judgment, or as God declares...

"For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." - Malachi 3:6

The Hebrew word for "delivered" in Malachi 3:15...

Hebrew: מלט
Transliteration: mâlaţ
Pronunciation: maw-lat'
Definition: A primitive root; properly to be {smooth} that {is} (by implication) to escape (as if by slipperiness); causatively to release or rescue; specifically to bring forth {young} emit sparks: - deliver ({self}) {escape} {lay} leap {out} let {alone} let {go} {preserve} {save} X {speedily} X surely.
KJV Usage: escape (47x), deliver (33x), save (5x), ...out (4x), alone (1x), get away (1x), lay (1x), preserve (1x), speedily (1x), surely (1x).
Occurs: 95
In verses: 85

In addition; God makes it clear in other situations that He and His Word are NOT to be tested by people...

"You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah." - Deuteronomy 6:16

"Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water that we may drink," And Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?" - Exodus 17:2

"Surely all the men who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice," - Numbers 14:22

"Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is written, "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test." - Matthew 4:7

"Nor let us try [test] the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents." - 1 Corinthians 10:9

Who was to prove God in tithing by obedience to God's Word concerning tithing? These people, not the New Testament church...

1. The Nation of Israel -

Malachi 1:1 - "The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi."

2. The Nation of Israel and the corrupt Priests of the Nation of Israel -

Malachi 1:6 - "A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?"

3. The corrupt Priests of the Nation of Israel -

Malachi 2:1 - "And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you."

4. Concerning tithing, in the proper context of the Book of Malachi, those living under the Law of Moses in the Nation of Israel -

Malachi 4:4 - "Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments."

NOWHERE in God's Word does He instruct Christians to "test Him by tithing." To claim so is blatant false doctrine and deceptive stupidity.

An Interesting Commentary on Malachi...

"Malachi 2:17 presented a dangerous, hypocritical complaint against God. Namely, that He was not sufficiently punishing the wicked. God's response, in the earlier verses of chapter 3, was to warn Israel that judgment was, in fact, coming. And it was coming to Israel first. Verses 13 and 14 detailed one of Malachi's final accusations against Israel, which is that of blasphemy: speaking "harsh" words against God. These, and the attack here in verse 15, are similar to the criticisms of Malachi 2:17. Part of the suggestion being made is that God is not holding up His end of their covenant agreement.

Of course, the fact that God keeps His promises is the only reason Israel has survived long enough to make this complaint in the first place (Malachi 3:6). Neither the people, nor the priests, are obeying the commands of God (Malachi 1:7–8; 2:11–14; 3:8).

Israel has already been reminded that God has punished evil in the past (Malachi 1:2–5). He will purify His people at some point in the future (Malachi 3:2–4). And, according to the warning coming at the beginning of chapter 4, this judgment will be all-encompassing (Malachi 4:1)."

Two typical myths taught by false tithing teachers

Myth 1. "God has instructed all individuals to tithe, both Jew and Gentile."

Wrong; God called a NATION to tithe (the Nation of Israel living under the Law of Moses - Malachi 4:4), not individuals, Jew or Gentile. It was a national requirement to bring forth the tithes of the Promise Land; that of fruits, vegetables and clean animals, not an individual requirement.

Not everyone in Israel was required to tithe, the National requirement to fulfill the tithe came from farmers and ranchers (herdsmen) of Israel (the farming and ranching industry of Israel), no one else.

No tithe was required from carpenters, fishermen, doctors, stone workers, artists, day laborers, servants, etc. No tithe was required of them, they did not tithe anything unless they also grew fruits, vegetables, or raised clean animals on the Promise Land.

ref.;

Malachi 3:9 - "Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole NATION."

Numbers 18:21 - "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth IN ISRAEL for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation."

Malachi - 1:1 "The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi."

Myth 2. "The tithe was, and is, to come from an individual's income."

Wrong; The tithe came from the miraculous increase God provided of the produce of the Promise Land and the increase of the herds. Personal income had nothing to do with tithing. There was never any tithe required from personal income, there remains no tithe required from personal income. There is not now, and has never been, any tithe on income instructed by God.

ref.;

Leviticus 27:30, 32 -  "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.… And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD."

Deut. 14:23 "And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the first offspring of your herds and of your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always."

17 times God declares that the tithe will be only fruits, vegetables and clean livestock from the Promise Land, Israel, not your bank account from where you live...

Lev. 27:30, 32, Num. 18:27, Num. 18:28, Deut 12:17, Deut. 14:22, Deut. 14:23, Deut. 24:21, Deut. 26:12, 2 Chron. 31:5, 2 Chron. 31:6, Neh. 10:37, Neh. 13:5, Mal. 3:10-11, Matt. 23:23, Luke 11:42.

There is no scripture where God commands any individual in Israel, or anywhere else, regardless of what they do, to tithe.

Conclusion; In God's system of tithing, no individual was directly commanded to tithe, and the tithe was never taken from income.

Facts That Question and Expose the Myths

Facts..

1. Tithing has nothing to do with personal income or money, there is no Biblical tithing instructed on money or income. There is no connection made between the two, tithing and income, in scripture.

2. The tithe came from the miraculous increase in agricultural products (fruits, vegetables and clean animals) that God gave to the Nation of Israel, that increase alone was the substance of the tithe.

3. God has never instructed any individual to tithe; the tithe requirement was on a nation, the Nation of Israel, not any particular person, neither Jew or Gentile. God did not instruct persons to tithe, God instructed a Nation to tithe.

4. The tithe surrendered by the tither was restricted to fruits, vegetables and clean animals from the Promise Land. In scripture, money (income) was never tithed on, and there was, and remains, no requirement to do so.

If you believe points 1 through 4 are incorrect, please provide scripture contradicting them;

1. Where does scripture record God referring to the tithe as money to be paid, or connecting a tithe requirement to money?

2. Where does scripture record God describing the tithe (what the tithe was to be) as anything other than fruits, vegetables and clean animals from the Promise Land?

3. Where does scripture record God instructing tithing to all individual persons on earth, Jew or Gentiles, under the Old Testament or New Testament?

4. Where does scripture record God instructing monetary tithing, that is to say tithing on money or income?

Please send your answers or questions to;

Concept; "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." - Acts 17:11

The Dangerous Degree of Deception

To give you an example of how deceived, perverted and incompetent many tithing teachers have become; Creflo Dollar makes his claim that there is a biblical basis for literally killing individuals who are not tithers and attempt to enter a church service on an incident involving Joshua and Achan recorded in the Book of Joshua.

This is the scripture that Dollar references and claims provides him the right to end the life of a non-tither. If you will notice, the scripture Dollar refers to have absolutely NOTHING to do with tithing...

Joshua 7:10-26 (which is a record of an Israeli named Achan who confessed to stealing some of the spoils of war and hiding them in his tent);

In verse 21 Achan confesses; "When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it."

His sentence for doing so was death...

Verses 25 and 26; "And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.

And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day."

God's commanded tithing had nothing to do with the spoils of war, or of gold or silver or fine garments, and nowhere has God ever commanded that non-tithers be taken out and stoned to death for not tithing. In fact, it is clear that God took care of the lack of tithing Himself;

"And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it." - Malachi 2-3

It's my personal view that Dollar is simply seeking to find a biblical basis to justify and vent his hate, violence, greed, contempt and anger at people who do not show up to his so called "church" and hand over to him ten percent of their hard earned income to him, and if they don't "kill them."

What we see in Dollar's sick demented claims is scripture taken completely out of proper context, and scripture twisting by the twisted mind of a false and dangerous tithing teacher.

Dollar's perverted use of Joshua Chapter Seven can be found in his book "The Covenant Connector, How to get Connected to the Promises of God through The Tithe" (pages 56-57). A book filled with incompetent nonsense where, among other false teachings, Dollar  claims that we have no covenant with God unless we faithfully tithe.

Along with his false claims of a requirement of tithing to maintain our covenant with God, Dollar has also made the following demonic statements while spreading his lies about the subject...

"If you take time to tithe correctly, it's impossible to go to hell."

"Tithing will keep you in heaven, it will keep you in the presence of God."

"We know that the tithe is the agreement, we know the tithe, according to this we're believing right now, the tithe is the covenant."

"I'm telling you that your tithe is your covenant connector."

"I'm telling you that ALL the promises that God ever gave you, you cannot get them without being connected to them with the tithe."

"I'm telling you that the only way you gonna get hooked up to healing is through the tithe."

"I'm telling you that the only way you gonna get hooked up to prosperity, deliverance, or ANY promise in the word of God, is through the tithe."

A summary of Dollar's desire to kill non-tithers is seen here taken from a public statement Dollar made from his pulpit, a pulpit used for years to pillage and plunder his tithing victims...

"non tithers, line them up in the front, pass out Uzi (machine guns), at the count of three Jesus', shoot them all dead, take them out the side door, have a big hole (mass grave) and bury them, and then go ahead and have church, if we were not under the blood of Jesus I would certainly try it, folks this is a serious thing."

Creflo Dollar is clearly a dangerous menace to the Body of Christ, not only because of his violent rhetoric, but also because of the long list of lies and deceptions this man has engaged in for decades leading people into sad ungodly bondage which is always the result of satan's filthy lies.

Why Do I Take A Stand Against Tithing?

That's a question I have been asked many times, and given the sorry state of affairs in many churches and other ministries, and a sad lack of biblical understanding concerning tithing, being asked such a question doesn't surprise me.

Take time to read the posts in this Tithing Blog; you'll soon come to a Biblical understanding as to why tithing is not a practice any Christian is required to engage in. There is no such thing as "Christian tithing."

Tithers...financial slaves and victims to whom they tithe to!

Jesus Christ did not set us free to become economic slaves to greedy liars. We will not bow our knee to the lies of these deceivers.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32

"So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free." - John 8:36

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised (under the law of Moses), Christ shall profit you nothing." - Galatians 5:1-2

Why do I oppose tithing? (Remember, we are talking about TITHING, not free will cheerful giving as God leads you to do.)

The answer should be obvious; it's unbiblical for a New Testament Believer, but it doesn't seem to be obvious to tithing teachers and their tithing students.

Here is a short list of why I oppose tithing;

1. Tithing is not a New Testament doctrine or command. Christians are not instructed to tithe anything to anyone.

2. All commands for tithing were a matter of the law of Moses (Jesus made that very clear - Matt. 23:23), no Christian is bound by the law of Moses.

3. No church or other organization has a right to ask for or receive tithes. In fact, they have no right to expect any donations at all; people can support a ministry if they want to, but no Christian is biblically obligated to do so. The vast majority of giving in the early church went to the needy and the poor, not churches.

4. Tithing places Christians into spiritual and financial bondage, in permanent debt to a "church" or other so called "ministry,"  and deceptive slavery to whom they tithe to.

5. Tithing transfers money into the hands of people and organizations who have no right to have it. In many cases, it has made thieves rich by deception.

6. Tithing was never money, there is no such thing biblically as monetary tithing.

7. Christians are instructed to be free will givers, not tithers, giving as they are led by their heart to cheerfully do so.

8. Tithing is not seen in the Bible as a "Genesis to Revelation" ongoing continuing principle to be followed today by all people. God's command to tithe was limited to the Nation of Israel while they were under the law of Moses. There is no 10% universal standard of giving anywhere in God's Word a Christian must follow.

9. Tithing, the teaching thereof, turns churches into oppressive organizations that place people under constant financial pressure to hand over 10% of their income "or face curses and loss of blessings;" a damnable thing to tell a Christian!

10. The teaching of tithing turns "ministers" into wolves in sheep's clothing stealing from God's people.

11. God has never given the biblical tithe to anyone under the New Testament; not to any apostle, pastor, teacher, evangelist, prophet, etc., to no one.

12. Teaching tithing to New Testament Believers is in fact the preaching of another gospel not found in the Bible.

13. Tithing turns a Christian into a fear motivated legalist who is afraid of the wrath and curse of God, and loss of blessings, if he or she does not "pay their tithe" which is deceptively claimed to be 10% of a person's income.

14. And last but not least; modern day tithing is nothing but a ugly deceptive scam, and those that teach it will be facing God's judgment for what they are doing.

There are many other reasons to oppose modern day tithing, I could list a lot more, but you have some of the reasons I oppose the teaching and practice of tithing.
