Examining a Deceptive Quote from Kenneth Copeland.

"What's the storehouse? The storehouse is where you get fed from! That's where you pay your tithes!" - Kenneth Copeland

That is a quote from Copeland in the context of claiming that he was teaching you (the subject was tithing) and therefore by doing so qualified him as the "Storehouse to be tithed to." That claim, which is used by many false tithing teachers, is that by teaching you, they have therefore "fed you," therefore you must "tithe to them."

Here is why Copeland's claim is unbiblical nonsense.

1. The real Storehouse being referred to in the Bible (sometimes called the Treasure House) was in Jerusalem and was part of, or attached to, the Temple. Neither the Temple or the Storehouse exists any longer having been destroyed in 70AD.

Also, the Old Testament Priests of the Tribe of Levi no longer minister as Priests established under the Law of Moses in the Old Testament. There are NO Priests from the Old Testament today; the office, that Priesthood, is over with no and longer valid...

"If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law." - Hebrews 7:11-12 (Review the entire seventh chapter of Hebrews; both the Priesthood of Aaron and tithing have been ended being referred to by God as "weak, unprofitable and annulled").

No New Testament church or ministry, or for that matter, any person, or any individual, has ever been called or described as a "Storehouse to be tithed to" by God in His Word.

Copeland is claiming to be something which he is clearly NOT; the Storehouse. Copeland is asking for something God does not authorize to be given to him; a tithe paid to him.

Additionally, Copeland is claiming something God does not acknowledge and has never established; that Copeland is, as a teacher, the Storehouse. He can claim so for eternity, but he is simply false in his assertions. Being a teacher of God's word, a deceptive one as Copeland is or not, does not biblically establish anyone as the Storehouse.

2. In Copeland's fantasy statement, he claims "The storehouse is where YOU get fed from!" This claim is complete nonsense and foolish stupidity. Who exactly is "YOU?"

The only people, the only biblical "YOU," who were authorized by God to be fed (supported) from the Storehouse that contained the tithe (actually, the "tithe of the tithe," not the whole tithe that was collected - Nehemiah 10:37-38) were the following three people under the Law of Moses...

      a. The Singers in the Temple.

      b. The Porters in the Temple.

      c. The Levite Priests who were serving in the Temple.

"For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God." - Nehemiah 10:39

"And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests." - Nehemiah 13:5

"And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field." - Nehemiah 13:10

As a side note; the Priests served for about two weeks out of the year in the Temple, having been divided into 24 courses. The priestly divisions or "sacerdotal courses" are Temple work groups in Judaism. According to 1 Chronicles 24, they were originally formed during the reign of King David.

"Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar." - 1 Chronicles 24:1

"And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers. Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar." - 1 Chronicles 24:4-5

"And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation." Numbers 18:21

3. Copeland's claim is a clear example of someone taking scripture out of context in a vain attempt to twist it into saying what he wants it to say; he is attempting to claim ownership of the tithe, or claiming you must tithe to him by stating that "he is the Storehouse" because "he taught you something," and therefore you must tithe to him as he feeds you.

4. Copeland claims; "The Storehouse; that's where you pay your tithes!" ...and, of course, Copeland believes he is the Storehouse.

In fact, the only people instructed and authorized by God to bring a tithe into the Storehouse was a Levite under the direct supervision of a Priest of the Tribe of Levi who was a direct descendant of Aaron. No one else was instructed or authorized to do so. The common people who tithed (farmers and ranchers), the non Levites, had no instructions, responsibility or authority to do so.

"And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house." - Nehemiah 10:38

Paying teachers...

"Let him that is taught in the word communicate (share) unto him that teacheth in all good things" - Galatians 6:6

NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING in the Bible states that you have to "pay someone money" if you have learned from them. Share materially with someone can mean anything such as buy them lunch, give them help if they need it, give them items they may need, etc., BUT IT DOES NOT SAY MONEY. You can give money if you want to, there is nothing wrong with doing so, but you do NOT have to, you are NOT required to do so. Christians need to stop assuming it means ONLY to give them money.

Also, it's IMPORTANT to understand that it is YOU who decides if someone has indeed taught you. That is NOT up to the teacher, it's up to YOU. I have sat through countless sermons from incompetent "pastors" and other "teachers" who didn't teach me, or anyone, anything. They deserve NOTHING, and they have no right to demand anything.

Conclusion; Copeland's claims, along with other tithing teachers who make similar claims, are teaching unscriptural and deceptive demonic rubbish that rob gullible Christians.

Tithers...financial slaves and victims to whom they tithe to...

Jesus Christ did not set us free to become economic slaves to greedy liars. We will not bow our knee to the lies of these deceivers.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32

"So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free." - John 8:36

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised (under the law of Moses), Christ shall profit you nothing." - Galatians 5:1-2
