An answer to Loreen...
>> Tithing IS in fact limited to those things, Loreen. Tithing was, of course, more complicated than what I addressed, there was more to tithing (I could have posted a lot more points), yes, but was still limited to those Israelis living under the Law. And keeping with the purpose of my OP; if tithing is not limited to Israelis living under the Law, and is a New testament practice, as requested in my OP...
>> If you think any of the above points are wrong, please provide CLEAR SCRIPTURE to disprove any point you want.
>> Also; calling clear scriptural information and solid scriptural principles "those kinds of technicalities" is extremely dangerous. By "technicalities" it is obvious that you mean "minor points that don't really need to be followed." On that subject, God's Word says...
2 Timothy 3:16-17
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
NOTE; ALL SCRIPTURE...ALL OF IT.
>> And...
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
NOTE: "do according to ALL that is written in it." ALL.
>> Again... I'm looking for scripture, not commentary; let's let the scriptures be our commentary and our guiding principles. Show me scripture to disprove what I posted in my OP if you can.
>>> When studying God's Word, two important rules...
>> RULE ONE; Get God's definition of anything, something different or less than God's definition of anything are the traditions of men making void the word of God. We define Jesus, faith, love, sin, salvation, etc., by God's Word, nothing else.
>> RULE TWO; God says what he means, and he means what he says. Yes, God uses types and shadows, parables, allegory, etc.; but whatever God is communicating, He means it.
The result of rules one and two; we walk in the light of God's word...

One of the most consistent falsehoods in churches today is that Christians are obligated to "pay tithes." There are no such instructions anywhere in God's Word. Purpose of this Blog; examine false doctrines in today's teachings on tithing. Anyone claiming that a Christian must tithe is teaching a falsehood. "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." - Acts 17:11
