TITHING; A SYSTEM OF DEATH TO BE CONTINUED?
It's interesting to note that God placed the receiving of tithes juxtaposition to death in Hebrews 7:8...
"And here men that die receive tithes; but there he, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth."
Note; "receiveth them" was added by King James Version translators and is not found in the original Greek text, therefore I quoted Hebrews 7:8 without it.
Receiving of tithes is a way of saying "here men die being under the Law of Moses," (see Hebrews 7:5) just as Paul used circumcision to indicate being under the Law...
Romans 2:25-26 - "For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?"
Also, seen in the Book of Acts...
Acts 15:24 - "Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:"
What is Hebrews 7:8 telling us? This;
The Law of Moses established the Levite priesthood which is of the Law of carnal command (see Hebrews 7:11) ending in death, as contrasted to the priesthood of Melchisedec made after the power of endless life...
Hebrews 7:15-16 - "And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life."
Hebrews 7:8 has nothing to do with Melchisedec or Jesus still receiving tithes as false tithing teachers often claim. If Hebrews 7:8 was referring to a continuation of tithing it would be a continuation of a system of death.
If you will notice, Hebrews 7:8 does not say "here men that LIVE receive tithes," it says "here men that DIE receive tithes" strongly indicating that receiving tithes is part of a system of death referred to here;
Hebrews 7:18-19 - "For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God."
Hebrews 7:18 tells us that tithing, a system of death, is disannulled (canceled) being weak and without profit.
Why a system of death? This is why;
Galatians 3:10 - "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them."
