Here are a few more unBiblical lies taught by tithing teachers, a few more "nowwheres"...

NOWHERE...

- Nowhere is it stated that any Apostle ever taught anyone to tithe.

- Nowhere is it stated that any Apostle ever tithed.

- Nowhere is it stated that any Christian in the early church (such as in the Book of Acts) ever paid tithes, or that any early church taught tithing. Except for early churches that tried to put Christians back under the law, but were proven wrong.

- Nowhere is it stated that God will not answer your prayers if you don't tithe (a lie repeatedly claimed by the late Paul Crouch on TBN).

- Nowhere is it stated that you don't obtain the "Blessing of Abraham" if you don't tithe (a lie repeatedly claimed by Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar, among other "faith ministers"). We have already obtained, and been given the Blessing of Abraham through Jesus Christ and his death on the cross, not by tithing. Kenneth Copeland is a liar. The Bible says...

"That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." - Galatians 3:14

- Nowhere is it stated that Adam's original sin in the Garden was refusing to tithe (a lie, and utter idiotic nonsense, taught by Kenneth Copeland).

- Nowhere is it stated that for a Christian it is "a privilege to tithe" as claimed by Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar.

- Nowhere is it stated that Jesus ever tithed, there are NO examples of Jesus tithing, NOT ONE, as claimed by several faith ministers such as John Avanzini.

- Nowhere is it stated that a pastor should offer "refunds on tithes" if you don't become wealthy, as done by pastor Robert Morris.

- Nowhere is it stated that the tithe is 10% of gross income.

- Nowhere is it stated that "God will not help you with your taxes if you only tithe on your net income after taxes" (a lie repeatedly claimed by Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar, among other "faith ministers").

- Nowhere is it stated that a Christian's marriage will be destroyed if you don't tithe (a lie taught by pastor Robert Morris).

- Nowhere is it stated that a Christian's business will be destroyed if you don't tithe (a lie taught by pastor Robert Morris).

- Nowhere is it stated that your tires, refrigerator, clothes, shoes, and other household items will wear out faster and will be cursed if you don't tithe (a lie claimed by several faith ministers such as John Avanzini).

- Nowhere is it stated that the total tithe (or total tithing activity) was 10%; there were three tithes which added up to about 23.3% of fruits, vegetables and clean animals. See Leviticus 27:30-34, Malachi 3:10-12 and Matthew 23:23. Abram and Jacob’s tithes were either from Sodom or pagan Syria and were not holy or required by God.

- Nowhere is it stated that "Jesus is the tithe" as taught by TD Jakes.

- Nowhere is it stated that a church is "the storehouse" where tithes are to be paid. (A lie taught by pastor Robert Morris who demands that his church members tithe into his "church/storehouse" or, as he claims, "you are cursed.")

- Nowhere is it stated that “Render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s and render to God that which is God’s.” (Mt 22:21) is referring to tithing. (a lie claimed by several faith ministers such as John Avanzini).

- Nowhere is it stated that you are to "Bring the tithe to the priest; the government of your church." Nowhere is it stated that by being in "church government, such as an Elder or Pastor, that such people are "priests you are to tithe to." A lie taught by TD Jakes.

- Nowhere is it stated that "Tithing is a skeleton for your finances." A lie taught by TD Jakes.

- Nowhere is it stated that "When you tithe you invite God into your business, if you don't tithe, God will not bless your business." A lie taught by TD Jakes, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar and most other faith ministers.

- We are to be free-will givers, not tithers. "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; NOT grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7

Notice the word NOT, which means NO, DO NOT DO. No to what? No to giving under necessity or compulsion. Tithing was necessary and compulsory, it was LAW, laws are compulsory. We are told NOT to give under compulsion, NOT to tithe..

That, along with many other New Testament scriptures such as Jesus teaching "freely give, because you have freely received," refute tithing.

THIS is the Tithe of God...

THIS is the tithe of God...

>>>> Under God's system of tithing (found in the Law), tithing was 23 1/3 percent (three tithes) and by command of God, restricted to fruits, vegetables and clean animals grown on the promise land...

>>> Tithe scriptures designating the tithe limited to agricultural produce from the Promise Land...

> Lev. 27:30, 32 "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.… And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD."

> Num. 18:27 "And this your heave offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing-floor, and as the fullness of the wine-press."

> Num. 18:28 "Thus you also shall offer a heave offering to the LORD of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and you shall give thereof the LORD’s heave offering to Aaron the priest."

> Deut 12:17 "You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your wine, or of your oil."

> Deut. 14:22 "You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year."

> Deut. 14:23 "And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the first offspring of your herds and of your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always."

> Deut. 24:21 "When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow."

> Deut. 26:12 "When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase [produce: RSV] the third year, which is the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within your gates, and be filled."

> 2 Chron. 31:5 "And as soon as the commandment was circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance the first fruits of grain, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the fields; and the tithe of all things they brought in abundantly."

> 2 Chron. 31:6 "And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that lived in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated to the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps."

> Neh. 10:37 "And that we should bring the first fruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithes of our ground to the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage."

> Neh. 13:5 "And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where previously they laid the grain offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the offerings of the priests."

> Mal. 3:10 "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat [food] in my house."

> Matt. 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin (spices, ie, fruits,vegetables)..."

> Luke 11:42 "But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

>>> Do you think God was just kidding around? I think NOT.

Also...

>>> Who in reality, based on GOD'S WORD, owns the tithe and has the right to it? Answer...

>> THE TITHE WAS GIVEN;

> 1. To the Levite of the Nation of Israel (First Tithe of Three)...

"But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance." - Numbers 18:24, see also Nehemiah 10:37-38.

> 2. To the Tither of the Nation of Israel (Second Tithe of Three)...

"Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household," - Deuteronomy 14:22-26.

> 3. To the Tither of the Nation of Israel, the Levite of the Nation of Israel, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow (Third Tithe of Three)...

"And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest." - Deuteronomy 14:27-30, see also Deuteronomy 26:12.

>>> NOWHERE has God ever taken the tithes from the above mentioned people or groups and given it to any pastor, teacher, prophet, apostle, evangelist, churches, religious organizations, tithing teachers OR ANYONE.

THERE IS NOT ONE VERSE anywhere in God's Word that records God taking the tithe from the above list of people and groups and giving it to anyone.

If your pastor is teaching you to tithe, HE IS A THIEF STEALING FROM YOU and his mouth must be STOPPED...

Titus 1:10-11 - "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: WHO's MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for FILTHY LUCRE'S SAKE."

>>> Tithing was a total of 23-1/3%, not 10%, there were three required tithes; two paid every year, one paid every third year...

>> THE FIRST TITHE
Leviticus 27:30-33 defines this tithe as a tenth of crops and animals in herds and flocks.
Numbers 18 and Nehemiah 10:37-38 gives the ordinances, or instructions, for this tithe, and commands this tithe be taken by the Levites.
> Purpose of this tithe: to support the Levitical Priesthood, Temple and Temple workers.

>> SECOND TITHE
Deuteronomy 14:22-27: aka The Festival Tithe - a tenth of crops, plus add to that the firstborn animals, and take to the yearly feasts.
> Purpose of this tithe: that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always

>> THIRD TITHE
Deuteronomy 14:28-29: aka, The Three-Year Tithe, aka The Poor Tithe - a tenth of crops, kept at home, and invite the Levites, widows, orphans, stranger to eat.
> Purpose of this tithe: to feed the poor.

Tithing teachers like to speak of "faith" as being how much money you hand over to them

Hebrews Chapter 11...

Tithing teachers like to speak of "faith" as being how much money you hand over to them, how faithfully you "pay your tithe." If you are truly walking in faith, so tithing teachers claim, you'll "prove it" by how much cash goes in the offering plate. Does the Bible teach this concept?

It's interesting to note that NOT ONE of the persons listed in the Bible's Faith Hall of Fame, as it is sometimes called, was noted for their faith based on giving money, or giving anything, for that matter, to any person on earth. Even Abel's giving was a meat sacrifice directly to God, not anything given to anyone on earth.

>> Let's take a look...

Hebrews 11;

4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE. (in this case, a sacrifice of meat which was acceptable to God; not gold, silver, money, and was not a "tithe," etc.)

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
...THE REWARD COMES BY SEEKING GOD IN YOUR LIFE, NOT BY PAYING MONEY TO ANYONE.

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth....FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

>> Amazing how NOT ONE VERSE in Hebrews 11, THE VERY FAITH HALL OF FAME, mentions any requirement to hand over MONEY OR A TITHE OF MONEY to anyone to be walking in TRUE BIBLICAL FAITH.

>> Tithing teachers often claim that you "cannot walk in faith" without giving money to them; which is perpetuating the lie that money must be flowing to them from you or you are "not walking in faith."

OPEN YOUR EYES; YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO. And, as Peter explained it...

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make MERCHANDISE OF YOU (a source of money): whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their DAMNATION (sent to hell) slumbereth not." - 2 Peter 2:1-3

PS, the remaining part of Hebrews 11, verses 1 to 3 reads...

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

You can give money in faith, that is a biblical principle, you can give anything in faith that God would have you give.

We are to be free will cheerful givers, not tithers.

...FAITH, BUT NO MONEY GIVEN TO ANYONE.

Our New Nature in Christ

Our New Nature in Christ Does Not Need Us to Be Tithers, or Require Any Artificial and Non-scriptural 10% Rule of Giving.

>> God's gift to us; the new person in Christ.

Imposing an artificial "10% rule" of monetary, or any other form of tithing, on Christians is trying to govern Believers by the Law of Moses. One problem that arises by doing so is that the tithing teacher is appealing to the flesh in an attempt to use force by law compelling people to give.

Tithing for the Nation of Israel was law, it was compulsory. When such laws are forced on Christians they violate the freedom Jesus went to the cross to purchase for us.

The result is that people "give" motivated by fear, wrong reasons, greed, ignorance, false doctrine, legalism, and giving under compulsion, which the Apostle Paul warned against in 2nd Corinthians 9:7...

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; NOT grudgingly, or of necessity [under compulsion]: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

>> At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus Christ declared, “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.  He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners." - Luke 4:18.  Jesus fulfilled this mission by dying on the cross and setting us free!

"Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death." - Romans 8:1-2

>> New Nature in Christ.

Our new nature is to be governed by the Law of Christ ("Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2), not the Law of Moses where God commanded tithing was established. Being governed by the Law of Moses is like living in one country and having the laws of another imposed upon you. That is what a tithing teacher is doing when falsely teaching tithing as a requirement for a New Testament Christian; imposing the Law for the Nation of Israel on New Testament Believers who are free from the Law of Moses...

"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." - Romans 10:4

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." - Romans 6:14

"But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter." - Romans 7:6

"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." - Galatians 3:24-25

"Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave NO such commandment:" - Acts 15:24

>> We are to learn to give naturally, naturally in a spiritual sense as part of our new nature in Christ, as free will generous givers as Jesus would have us be, no longer in need of "standards" of giving because of laws that compel us to do so; we simply grow into a life style of freely giving that comes naturally to us.

Tithing laws retard the growth of us as free will generous givers, and keep us "giving" for the wrong reasons; that is giving under the law and compulsion, not because of our new nature in Christ.

One of the worst crimes committed by tithing teachers against Christians is revealed in this verse of scripture...

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them." - Galatians 3:10

A great crime in the light of this...

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." - Romans 8:2

>> To tithe compelled or deceived by false teachers to do so is to be in chains of bondage. To give freely is to be free in Christ! Our new nature is one of freely giving, not one of needing to be forced to "pay up or be cursed!"

Paul referred to the Law of Moses as a "ministry of death" (2 Corinthians 3:4-11) and warned...

"not of the letter [law] but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

>> We are new creations in Christ created by God...

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

"Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:" - Colossians 3:9-10

Who is "him" who created "him the new man?" Jesus! Who is the new man who was created? You, the Believer!

Christians can NEVER be cursed by not tithing; it's simply not possible.

Tithing teachers make claims well beyond any biblical credibility to place blood-washed blood-redeemed New Covenant believers under the curse of the Old Covenant, under the curse of the Law (the law of Moses).

>> FACT ONE; Gentiles...

In fact Gentile Christians were NEVER under that Law; they were instead condemned by the witness of nature all around them and their conscience; see Romans 1:18-20...

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" - Romans 1:18-20

And...

"He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto ISRAEL. He hath NOT dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord." - Psalm 147:19-20

>> FACT TWO; Hebrews...

Hebrew Christians who were once under the Law of Moses are now dead to it; how can a dead person be cursed? See Romans 7:4-7...

"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."

>> God’s Word very clearly declares to us who believe that "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us" - Gal. 3:13

Last I looked, this biblical text, Gal. 3:13, is also in the tithing teacher’s Bible also!

>> QUESTION;

The question must be asked; What post-Calvary New Testament principle of interpretation gives tithing teachers the authority to say that Christians who do not "tithe" are "cursed?"

Just what curse is it they speak of and try to place on Christians? Answer; a false deceptive one God has never established in and under the New Covenant. They foolishly and ignorantly quote Malachi 3:9 which is a curse of the Old Covenant, NOT THE NEW COVENANT...

>> Since the whole 10 percent went to the Levites...

"And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.

But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance." - Numbers 18:20-24

>> And, the priests only received a tenth of their tenth...

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.

Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD's heave offering to Aaron the priest." - Numbers 18:25-28

...it must be asked; are not gospel ministers who teach tithing cursed if they receive more than one per cent? ...ref.; Numbers 18:20-24.

Also, the priests only received a tenth of their tenth ...ref.; Numbers 18:25-28.

Are not gospel ministers who teach tithing cursed if they receive more than one per cent?...cursed because they are completely IGNORING what God's Word IN FACT says about the tithe?

>> THE PROBLEM;

Tithing teachers don't read, neither do they obey what God IN FACT says about tithing preferring rather their own made up garbage concerning tithing and their traditions of men which makes VOID the Word of God.

>> THE ANSWER;

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." - Acts 17:11

"For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: WHO's MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for FILTHY LUCRE'S SAKE." - Titus 1:10-11

And...

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they draw to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto MYTHS." - 2 Timothy 4:3

And...

"Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain [ACCUMULATING MONEY OR MATERIAL WEALTH] is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." - 1 Timothy 6:5

Quoting Malachi 3:10

Quoting scripture out of context proves nothing.

Sadly, people deceived into the modern tithing scam do little more than quote Malachi 3:10 ad infinitum and ad nauseam, taking it completely out of context. You can claim just about anything taking scripture out of context as he is doing.

Malachi 3:10 was clearing written by Malachi pursuant to the Law of Moses in which Law tithing was established as a commandment of God to the Children of Israel and no one else (see, Psalm 147:19-20). Tithers love to quote Malachi 3:10, but never look just a few verses further and read Malachi 4:4...

"Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments."

The entire Book of Malachi was written as a document stemming from the Law of Moses, including the prophecies in Malachi. We are not under the Law of Moses, we have no instructions to tithe.

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." - Romans 6:14

Tithing, as Jesus said, was a matter of the Law (Matthew 23:23); that is to say; tithing was established, codified, organized and commanded in the Law for those under the Law; again, we are not under the Law and not under tithing.

I have this posted before...

In the New Covenant there are no examples of anyone paying a tithe to anyone in any way shape or form. Matthew 23:23 takes place at a time under the Old Covenant and does not instruct a Christian to tithe.

In the New Covenant, no Apostle ever taught tithing, asked for a tithe, rebuked any person or church for not tithing, or received a tithe themselves. Not one of them. The early church (i.e. Book of Acts) NEVER tithed. We have NO record of them doing so.

If based on the New Covenant, that Christians should be tithing, tithing instructions would be clearly included in the New Covenant for us to follow. We cannot tithe based on the Old Covenant because all tithing God had commanded in the Old Covenant was based on the Law of Moses, we are not under the Law of Moses. For Christians under the New Covenant, no such tithing instructions, terms, conditions or details are outlined anywhere in the New Covenant for us to follow; they simply do not exist.

Tithing has NOTHING to do with Christians or Biblical Christianity. Anyone claiming that a Christian must or should be tithing, evening claiming that tithing "is not exactly commanded, but you should still be tithing," is teaching a false doctrine and is lying.

Tithe to Where You Are Fed?

Tithing teachers often try to justify collecting monetary tithes [money] from church members, or from followers of their organizations, by claiming that "you should tithe to where you are fed." By making this claim they are attempting to position themselves or their organizations as the "storehouse that fed you, and the place, or person, you must tithe to." False teachers such as Kenneth Copeland often make this deceptive claim to his followers claiming to be the "storehouse that has taught them.""

In God's Word, especially in the New Testament, there is no connection made between being taught anything and tithing to the source that may have taught you. Priests received tithes via the Temple Storehouse because their tribe inherited the tithe and for their (the Priests) service in the Temple. See Numbers 18:21-24...

But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.""

Their service could have included the teaching of the scriptures to the Jewish public, but there is no indication that a Priest who was not directly involved in teaching was denied the tithe due them. One of the reasons they received the tithes is because of their service in the Temple, but that did not have to include teaching. The Priests were involved in many activities besides teaching.

The Levite Priest's principal roles in the Temple included singing Psalms during Temple services, overseeing construction and maintenance for the Temple, serving as guards, and performing other services such as performing sacrifices. Levites also served as teachers and judges, and maintaining cities of refuge in Israel.

A priest was also required to act as a mediator. He is the one who represented God to His people, and in return from them to God. He acted as an "ambassador" so to speak, a sanctified vehicle through whom Yahweh God has chosen to serve the people and represent Him on His behalf.

It is interesting to note that the description of the duties of the Levite Priests in Numbers 18 does not directly mention teaching as a required duty.

There are several reasons why this claim is a false doctrine; that of a New Testament church, minister or ministry being authorized by God to demand tithes from Christians for teaching, or any other reason. I list some here...

1.  Most of the public teaching (reading of the scriptures) that occurred in the Old Testament period happened in local Synagogues or in public readings. There are no requirements in the Law of Moses, or any record of, people tithing to Synagogues because they had been taught something. Synagogues never collected tithes from anyone for any reason.

2. The common people (the non-Levites) were not authorized to tithe to the Temple Storehouse; only Levites under the supervision of a Priest descended from Aaron had the authorization and responsibility to facilitate the transportation of any tithes to the Temple Storehouse. Also; the amount they brought to the Temple Storehouse was 1/10 of the tithe, or 1/10th of the 1/10th; aka; a "tithe of the tithe;" not the whole tithe. See Nehemiah 10:38...

"And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God [the Temple in Jerusalem], to the chambers, into the treasure house."

3. No New Testament church, or any other New Testament ministry, is called a "Storehouse" that must be tithed to in God's Word. New Testament church fellowships are not Temple Storehouses. A real New Testament church is simply a gathering, or fellowship, of Believers. Paul lists what should happen in a New Testament fellowship, and it does not include the collecting of tithes due someone who has taught you, or due anyone for any reason...

"How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." - 1 Corinthians 14:26

4. As Christians we are often taught by many people; you can be taught scriptural truth from a singer in church service sharing a scripture or singing a song you have learned something from. You could learn from someone standing up in a service and giving a testimony and sharing a scripture. You could learn something over lunch with a fellow Christian. Are all of these people to be "tithed to" being your "storehouse" where you have learned?

5. As noted before;

Conclusion;

To claim that a New Testament teacher, or church, is your "storehouse you are fed from" wherein you must tithe to is utter unbiblical nonsense lacking any scripture to back such an erroneous and false claim.

In the New Testament all Believers are Priests; should we all be tithing to each other?

"But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;" - 1 Peter 2:9"

"You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." - 1 Peter 2:5

"Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years." - Revelation 20:6

A REQUIREMENT TO TITHE?

A REQUIREMENT TO TITHE... 1. Does not continue into the New Testament. 2. Is not recorded as being practiced in the New Testament. 3. Is not...
